Amsterdam Diamond City
The city of Amsterdam and diamonds are inextricably linked. The history of Amsterdam Diamond City starts in 1586 and lives on to this day. Yet the eventful history of the diamond is not well known to everyone. The Diamant Museum Amsterdam reveals the stories behind the diamond with films, photos, jewelery, historical documents and of course diamonds (real and n (i) et real).
In the 19th and early 20th century in particular, Amsterdam was the heyday of the world's diamond knowledge center. It is not for nothing that world-famous stones such as the Koh-I-Noor and the Cullinan were cut by Amsterdam diamond dealers. More than 400 years of diamond history in combination with tourism has shaped Amsterdam into the largest diamond city in the world.
Diamonds of all shapes and sizes can be seen in the Diamant Museum Amsterdam. A special part of the exhibition is the Diamond Experience where the visitor enters the heart of the diamond and will encounter many celebrities. Diamond lovers can find an extensive range of genuine diamonds and jewelery in the museum shop.
