Well-known portraits from the 17th century

If you want to view the most famous militia piece, you have to go to the Rijksmuseum, where Rembrandt's Night Watch hangs. But that is of course not the only beautiful archery cloth; in the 17th century many famous painters immortalized themselves in this way. In the covered Civic Guards Gallery, which officially belongs to the Amsterdam Museum but can be visited separately, you can see no fewer than fifteen of these gigantic paintings.
