Berlage's final masterpiece
The Hague is celebrating Mondrian & De Stijl
Exactly 100 years ago, the Dutch art movement De Stijl was established and Piet Mondrian is its most important representative. That is why in 2017, The Hague is sparing no expense in organising numerous exhibitions related to the famous artist and the influential art movement. This will include dance performances, festivals, lectures, special walking routes and decorated buildings. The central hub of all this is naturally Gemeentemuseum Den Haag with the largest Mondrian collection in the world. For this festive year, the museum has retrieved all its artwork on loan worldwide and will present three exhibitions about Mondrian and De Stijl: from 11 February to 21 May, Piet Mondrian and Bart van der Leck, from 3 June to 24 September, The Discovery of Mondrian and from 10 June to 17 September, The Architecture and Interior Design of De Stijl. For information about all the exhibitions and activities during the Mondrian Year, go to mondrianthehague.com!
