Local flavourPriding themselves on taking you off the beaten path, away from the well-trodden routes of the guidebooks, Eating Amsterdam aims to give you a glimpse of the city's true local culture, food and people.
Eating Amsterdam offers four unique tours:
• Jordaan Food & Canals Tour: Stroll through the historic Jordaan neighborhood, and try a dozen uniquely Dutch tastings from some local foodie vendors. Spend an hour on a beautifully restored, private boat and see Amsterdam from its world-heritage canals.
• Jordaan Food Walking Tour: Visit a host of uniquely Dutch shops and cafes, and make multiple cultural stops uncovering the real Amsterdam. (Features similar tastings as the Jordaan Food & Canals Tour but is a walking-only tour.)
• A Taste of Amsterdam at Twilight: Take advantage of Amsterdam by night with an evening stroll through the buzzing, cosmopolitan neighborhood of the Oud West, a district characterised by elegant architecture, peaceful canals and offbeat bars and shops. Packed with vibrant restaurants, your guide will give you a taste of the truly international nature of Amsterdam.
• A Taste of Life in Haarlem: The medieval city of Haarlem is one of the most photogenic cities in the Netherlands. Traditionally a market town it is now a bustling city with countless cafes and restaurants. Wander the cobbled streets lined with ancient buildings. We’ll introduce you to our locals in the very same shops and cafes they’ve been running for generations. You’ll visit hidden courtyards and learn about the history of this magical city.
Our local guides love to tell you their own Haarlem stories, enhancing your experience while you eat, drink and explore.
Whether you’re just visiting Amsterdam for the weekend, are an expat who’s recently moved here, or have lived in Amsterdam your whole life, you’re guaranteed to learn something new about the city. So take a break from being a tourist (or a tour guide, for that matter) and let Eating Amsterdam show you a side of the city you’ll never forget.
