Experience the real Amsterdam countryside
We value truly authentic experiences, a taste of Dutch life beyond the standard tourist attractions. Therefore we developed our own countryside tour. It does include typical Dutch landscapes, stories and tastings. We will stroll through picturesque villages and be on top of dikes. Throughout the day you will feel like you are getting to know the Netherlands like a local instead of a tourist.
In the morning, we depart from the center of Amsterdam. Soon we will reach the rural part of the city and then move on through several landscapes where land and water have their eternal interactions. You will learn everything about the history of the region and its relationship with the city of Amsterdam. After a lunch break in style, it’s time for the highlight of the day.
Highlight: private reception at a windmill
We will visit a centuries old windmill in the middle of the Dutch polder landscape. Passionate retired millers keep the mill alive. They are always happy to receive us and show you all the ins and outs. If you are interested, you may even lend a hand and experience yourself what it’s like to run a windmill!
