One of the major benefits of the Expatcenter at the time was that it enabled a combined application to be made for a provisional residence permit (MVV) and regular residence permit (VVR) while the highly skilled migrant was still abroad. And now, effective as of 1 June 2013, the Modern Migration Policy Act (MoMi) has adopted this exact procedure as the national standard for all migrant employees. Under the Modern Migration Policy Act, this ‘new’ application is referred to as Access and Residence (Toegang en Verblijf, TEV).

At the Expatcenter we’re obviously proud that our procedure has been adopted for the Modern Migration Policy. Attracting international talent is key to the economic growth of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, and it remains important that we assist this group of people in the best way possible. It is the Expatcenter’s duty and pleasure to continuously strive to improve the service offered to international companies and their employees.

To celebrate the Expatcenter’s 5th anniversary, we have teamed up with our partners (the City of Amsterdam Economic Affairs Department, amsterdam inbusiness and the Amsterdam Economic Board) to organise a Business Get-together aboard the Clipper Stad Amsterdam (docked on the NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam). The event will take place on Friday, 6 September 2013. Invitations to our corporate clients and partners will be sent out shortly. Mark your diary!
