Supporting tenants in Amsterdam
As with all large cities, tenants in Amsterdam can sometimes be the target of housing scams or unfair discrimination from landlords. The media has recently highlighted several occurrences in which internationals who were unfamiliar with Dutch regulations have fallen victim to this illegal activity. In order to address this, IN Amsterdam has been working in close collaboration with !WOON, a tenant support agency funded by the City of Amsterdam that offers confidential advice about renting in Amsterdam.
Receive free legal advice at the new !WOON helpdesk
!WOON has now opened a weekly walk-in helpdesk at the IN Amsterdam office. Internationals are invited to make use of !WOON’s free information and ask any questions they might have about tenancy rights in the Netherlands. The team at !WOON are experts in their field and have the knowledge and experience to advise on rental contracts, tenancy disputes, liaising with landlords and other issues related to renting property.
The walk-in helpdesk is currently open on Fridays from 12:00 until 13:30 at the IN Amsterdam office at WTC Amsterdam. Appointments are not required, simply come along with your questions or concerns.
