The International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), RAI Amsterdam and selected Amsterdam hotels are to continue their successful working partnership for at least another two years. On Wednesday August 17th IBC CEO Michael Crimp received in The College Hotel the contract for this long-term cooperation, which guarantees more than 59,000 overnight stays under the label I amsterdam approved. Given the importance of a dependable supply of high-quality accommodation, the cooperating parties have a pivotal role in the development of both IBC and the city of Amsterdam.
PRESS RELEASE - The biggest outdoor free-running and parkour track in the Netherlands was inaugurated on 11 July 2016 on the banks of the Sloterplas, a lake in Amsterdam’s Nieuw West district. The parkour track, to be managed by Amsterdam’s free-running community, was opened by Achmed Baâdoud (chairman of the Nieuw West district committee), Ronald Mauer (Nieuw West district committee member responsible for Sports and Sloterplas) and Frans van der Avert (Amsterdam Marketing CEO). The parkour and the physical link with ‘I amsterdam’, the motto of the city and its residents, fits in with Amsterdam’s desire to present itself as a modern city.

These results are reported in the visitor survey conducted every four years by Amsterdam Marketing. The survey was conducted among a representative sample of no fewer than 12,000 respondents from different countries around the world. It reveals who the visitors are, what they spend and do here and what they think of Amsterdam and the region.
