New indoor skatepark in Amsterdam

A huge new indoor skatepark is set to be officially opened in Amsterdam. Set over more than 1,600 sq metres and featuring obstacles that can be raised or lowered with hydraulic lifts, Skatepark NOORD Amsterdam is the first indoor facility for skaters in the city in four years. Located on Aambeeldstraat in the NDSM area of Amsterdam Noord, it also boasts its own skateboard school and room for demos, contests and skating programs. The facility will be officially opened by Alderman Eric van der Burg and Chairman of the Board Coby van Berkum on Saturday, 9 September 2017. The launch comes just before youngsters from all over the Netherlands compete in the finals of the Dutch Skateboarding Championships.

Outdoor skatepark 'De Flipperkast'

Just a week after Skatepark NOORD’s official opening, outdoor skate park ‘De Flipperkast' will also be unveiled. Situated just by Buikslotermeer square, between the Waddenweg viaduct and the city district north, the temporary 400 sq metre skate park is predicted to be in place for around five years.
