The Cinekid Festival gives families the chance to go behind-the-scenes and see how all their favourite television shows and films are made. Boasting events, film screenings, workshops and masterclasses, as well as interactive VR installations, stop-motion musicals and selfie workshops, there really is something for the whole family.

Life in the Universe exhibition at NEMO Science Museum
Visitors to NEMO’s new 'Life in the Universe' exhibition will go on an expedition to the farthest corners of the universe, past stars many billions of years old to planets that could support human life. On this interstellar journey you’ll also learn more about the human race and its origins on Earth. If that wasn’t enough, there's also the chance to touch a 4.6-billion-year-old meteorite. Cosmic.

The Brushes award winners at Rijksmuseum
The Brushes Awards honour the most beautifully illustrated children's books of the year, and this exhibition features the winners’ stunning work. Exhibits include drawings by Floor Rieder, who received the Gold Penseel (Brush) for her work on Het raadsel van alles wat leeft (The Riddle of All Living Things), as well as works by Anton van Hertbruggen and Annemarie van Haeringen. The drawings are on show in the Rijksmuseum daily.

KLIK! Animation Festival
As well as it’s huge roster of film screenings, special guests and ‘never grow up’ theme, KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival offers a special programme just for kids. On it you’ll find only the best and kid-friendliest films for little ones (and not so little ones), whether it's animated adventures or original stories you won’t see on TV.

I Want Candy Halloween party
This authentic Halloween kid’s party will feature games, face-painting, pumpkin-carving and a spooky buffet breakfast. Doors open at 10:00, and the event finishes at 11:30 with a special trick or treat walk along the Max Euweplein. Tickets cost €15.95, and children aged 2 years and under eat for free.
