Public screening of Europa League Final
On Wednesday, 24 May, Ajax supporters will be able to watch the Europa League final between Ajax and Manchester United live on a big screen on Museumplein. If Ajax win, the team will also be honoured on Museumplein the following day.
Entry to the event is free of charge. To ensure the smooth arrival of thousands of supporters, extra security and crowd management measures will be in place. The area is open from 18:00 onwards; the pre-match programming starts at 19:45 and kick-off is at 20:45. The area will be open until 23:45 at the latest. There is space for around 100,000 visitors.
Safety measures include barriers, portable urinals and litter bins in Museumplein and the surrounding area. A substantial number of supervisors will be on duty and the City of Amsterdam is in contact with local residents and businesses. Visitors may bring alcoholic drinks, but only if they’re for their own use; glass is not allowed.
Welcoming the team
If Ajax win the final, a celebration (‘huldiging’) takes place the following day, also on Museumplein. In that case, the event area on Museumplein will be open from 15:00; the team arrives around 18:00 and the festivities continue until 20:30.
