City Offices to open later from June
The City of Amsterdam is working to reduce waiting times at City Offices (Stadslokketten). Starting from 12 June, Amsterdam’s seven City Offices will remain open until 20:00, rather than 18:00, to accommodate more appointments and improve access to its services.
City Offices provide various administrative services including registrations, arranging permits and birth and marriage certificates. Many of these procedures currently require visiting a City Office in person. The extended opening hours aim to provide a faster, more convenient service for residents.
Increasing online services
The City is also working towards offering more of its services online. For example, as of February 2017, Dutch citizens who meet certain conditions can register to marry digitally.
