Where to celebrate American Thanksgiving in Amsterdam
Given Amsterdam’s thriving international community, it should come as no surprise that the city offers plenty of places to celebrate the American Thanksgiving holiday. It doesn’t matter whether you’re from the US, or just fancy filling up on a delicious feast brimming with turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing, we’ve picked out some events to help you celebrate Thanksgiving 2017.
- Café Belcampo – this traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings is organised by Amsterdam’s American Book Centre. You can even bring your own starter and dessert.
- Grand Cafe Lokaal – to celebrate Thanksgiving in style you can order an entire turkey or a set three-course menu. The chef has even visited the turkey farm himself to pick out the very best birds.
Wyers Bar and Restaurant - This year Wyers is rolling out the roasted turkey and sides for an authentic American feast: four courses which includes a help yourself pie bar to finish.
Seasons Restaurant – If you can’t celebrate on November 23, then Seasons Restaurant offers the chance to enjoy Thanksgiving meals over three days, including lunch.
Staring at Jacob – This New York Brunch Bar is hosting a ‘big ass American dinner’ (in their own words), where diners all sit and celebrate the holiday at one long table.
American icon the Hard Rock Cafe is having a full traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings, including corn chowder, pumpkin pie, and of course turkey. Reservations are required.
Conexxion Amsterdam - the Christian student organisation will host a Thanksgiving potluck on Saturday 25 November, where you can cook your own dish and bring it along to share with others.
Midtown Grill - To celebrate the American restaurant will serve Thanksgiving inspired dishes alongside its regular menu.
