Asthmaware receives €300,000

Asthmaware has developed a shirt equipped with sensors, which children with asthma can wear at night to monitor their symptoms. The healthtech startup from Haarlem has now received a convertible loan of €300,000 from the Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland. The funds will be used for a pilot study in two hospitals and for developing a new algorithm measuring the course of the disease.

Carbon Equity raises €1.2 million for alternative climate investing

FinTech startup Carbon Equity, a platform for global alternative climate investing, has raised €1.2 million in growth capital. The platform aims to lower minimums for private climate investing, unlocking the market for many more investors.

Echoes, Orderli and Quest are backed by Y Combinator

Three Amsterdam-based startups – Echoes, which provides business support for engineers, Orderli, a tableside ordering app for hospitality businesses, and Quest, a social audio app – have received funding from the American startup accelerator Y Combinator.

EclectiqIQ secures €3 million in funding, plus a €15 million financing deal

Amsterdam-based cybersecurity scale-up EclecticlQ has raised €3 million from the cybersecurity investor Dutch Security TechFund. The scale-up has also secured a €15 million financing deal from the European Investment Bank (EIB), the EU’s lending arm, through the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI).

€297,000 for Ellogon AI

UvA spin-off Ellogon AI, which develops AI technologies for examining tissue of cancer patients to personalise immunotherapy, has received a convertible loan of €297,000 from the Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland. Founded by two UvA professors, Ellogon works in close collaboration with the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI).

Foleon raises $10 million

The Amsterdam-based B2B content creation platform Foleon (previously known as Instant Magazine) has raised $10 million in Series C funding from Connected Capital and Newion, existing investors of the startup. The funds will go to team growth and product development.

Force Field is acquired by Vertigo

The games developer Vertigo Games has acquired Amsterdam-based VR developer Force Field, which will be renamed to Vertigo Amsterdam.

Convertible loan for InCircular

The Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland is providing a convertible loan of €300,000 to the Vrije Universiteit spin-off InCircular for co-financing the development of its technology to stabilise proteins for applications in pharmaceutics and diagnostics.

The Next Closet raises €3 million

Sustainable fashion pioneer The Next Closet, which provides an e-commerce platform for preloved designer fashion, has raised €3 million. The investment will be used to expand the company’s team and further cement its position as a market leader.

Apple buys Primephonic

Apple has acquired the classical music streaming service Primephonic, which is based in Amsterdam, to integrate it into the Apple Music platform.

€5 million for Requr

Requr, a growth-funding platform focussed on SaaS businesses and based in Amsterdam, has secured €5 million in growth capital. The platform offers entrepreneurs an opportunity to raise capital without giving up control of their business.

VanMoof breaks records

The Dutch e-bike brand VanMoof, which specialises in enhancing e-bikes with user-controllable technology, has closed a $128 million Series C funding round. This latest investment makes the company the world’s best-funded e-bike business.

ViriCiti is acquired by ChargePoint for €75 million

EV charging network operator ChargePoint has acquired Amsterdam-based ViriCiti, which provides solutions for eBus and commercial fleets, for €75 million to further strengthen its portfolio.
