In December 2018, Jobbird, one of the Netherlands’ largest job sites, declared bankruptcy. Fortunately, recruitment and employment agency YoungCapital has taken over the site, which it will use to expand into new sectors.


ScanMovers, an Amsterdam-based independent online comparison site that helps users to find a moving company, received €750,000 from angel investors, increasing the total amount the startup has raised to €1.25 million since its launch in 2016.  The company plans to use the funds to develop a new app which will make relocating even less stressful.


Electric scooter company Etergo (previously known as Bolt Mobility) received €10 million from a German automotive business. Etergo will use the investment to begin the large-scale production of its flagship product, the AppScooter. Previously, it raised €5 million through crowdfunding.


Dutch interior design platform Cafedeco received a €300,000 seed investment from three private investors, who now each own a 10 per cent stake in the business. The site allows consumers to upload an image of a piece of furniture they’ve seen online or in real life, which professional designers can then help them source and purchase.
