Investors offer money, expertise and contacts

Midgame Fund, backed by a group of 25 prominent Dutch developers, aims to encourage homegrown talent by sharing money, knowledge and business contacts with up-and-coming game makers.

According to the group, the initiative fills a gap in the Dutch gaming industry for re-investing in the local ecosystem. “The Dutch game industry has very few platforms for successful game developers to reinvest in other members of our industry,” a statement said. “We don’t think we are the all-in-one solution for all game funding, but an important part of a healthy ecosystem nonetheless.

“We want more sustainable, independent, and diverse game studios in the Netherlands. We believe successful games enable that.”

Game makers can pitch for sums in the range of €10-150k via the Midgame Fund website.
