Cargoroo & Urbee

As part of an international project testing the feasibility of sharing services for electronic bikes, cargo-bikes and cars, the Amsterdam-based e-bike sharing startups Cargoroo and Urbee and the City of Amsterdam are receiving a €1.2 million subsidy from the EU. In total, Brussels will give a subsidy of €8.8 million to the project, which is being carried out in seven cities across five countries. 

Creative Fabrica

Creative Fabrica is receiving €500.000 from the investment fund Peak Capital. The Amsterdam-based startup provides designs and patterns and develops tools for crafters. According to the company, the funds will be used to attract designers, for marketing and for developing the affiliate programme. 

Dodore/Agri-Wallet

Dodore, specifically its product Agri-Wallet, has won €125,000 at the NpM Innovator’s Challenge, an event held during Accenture’s Innovation Summit. The money was won for a concept developed in partnership with Geodatics. Agri-Wallet’s blockchain solution lets smallholder farmers in developing countries take out loans for seeds, fertiliser etc. Agri-Wallet and Geodatics will cooperate to provide tailored agronomic advice and customised loans to smallholder farmers in Kenya. According to Geodatics, the initiative will combine geodata, farmer profiles and crop growth models to provide effective, time- and location-specific advice to smallholder farmers, lowering the financial risk for farmers, financial service providers and other actors.

Fastned

Fastned, a startup that’s building a European network of fast charging stations for electric vehicles, has acquired €6 million new equity, including €3.5 million of new capital and the conversion of a €2.5 million loan by Flowfund. According to the company, the capital will be used to finance further expansion of the Fastned network.

Polarsteps

The Amsterdam-based travel startup Polarsteps has raised €3 million funding. Polarsteps provides an app that tracks the user’s route and places they’ve visited. It can be used to automatically record a trip and share it with family and friends. The funding, which means Polarsteps’ total funding is €4.6 million to date, was raised in a Series A round led by INKEF Capital. 

Takeaway

The Amsterdam-based Takeaway.com, one of Europe’s leading online food delivery marketplaces, (it also operates in Israel and Vietnam), has raised approximately €430 million through an accelerated bookbuild offering, according to Silicon Canals, plus €250 million through a concurrent offering of convertible bonds. 

ViriCiti

The clean-tech startup ViriCiti, which has developed an online platform for smart-charging electric or hybrid vehicle fleets, is receiving an investment of €6.25 million. Smart charging means combining information about the vehicles, routes and other data sources to increase the efficiency of charging infrastructure. The investment comes from Energy Impact Partners (EIP), the Mainport Innovation Fund II (MIF II) and an unnamed third party and will be used for furthering the company’s expansion in North America.
