Serving the EMEA region from Amsterdam
DART Aerospace has opened its new Amsterdam Area repair and overhaul (R&O) facility. The company’s clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa can now send their inflatables to the new location in the Netherlands to be repaired and overhauled, whereas previously, all items had to be shipped to DART’s plant in Louisiana in the United States.
The Dutch facility is in Nieuw-Vennep and is EASA Part 145 certified, providing it with the authorisation required to perform maintenance work on inflatable equipment in Europe. The convenient location means some customers in the region can have their life rafts, emergency flotation systems and other items sent to DART in a single day.
Harvey Siemens, DART’s R&O Europe manager, said in a statement: “We look forward to being able to provide world-class R&O services to DART’s EMEA clients, now that our new Amsterdam facility is fully certified and functional. Ideally situated near Schiphol Airport, this facility will now allow us to provide the same services we do in Broussard, Louisiana – but on this side of the globe.”
DART joins a growing aerospace industry in Amsterdam, which includes GE Aviation, Boeing, Bell, CAE and Embraer. These companies have formed a professional community near Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and provide different services, including training, marketing and spare parts logistics. Amsterdam is also home to the Netherlands Aerospace Centre, which strives to make air transport and space exploration more sustainable, safe and efficient.
