Europe’s largest FinTech event

From 3 to 5 June, finance professionals and entrepreneurs from around the globe will descend on Amsterdam for Money20/20, Europe’s largest event for the FinTech and financial services industries. The 2019 edition takes place at RAI Amsterdam and features more than 350 speakers addressing audiences from seven stages for a total of 70 hours of programming. The Dutch capital’s growing FinTech scene makes it a natural choice for the conference and it’s home to industry leaders like Ohpen and Adyen, which have helped jobs in the sector grow by 35% since 2017.

Aiming to create a faster, simpler and fairer future for money, Money20/20 takes place four times every year in North America, Asia and Europe. The annual Amsterdam conference attracts representatives from top FinTech and e-commerce companies, journalists, academics, regulators and employees of prime consulting agencies, including Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers, making it a must for everyone in the industry.

Check out some of the 12 themes of this year’s event and learn about the hot topics shaping the conversation around the future of money.

Payments evolution & innovation

The payments industry is growing rapidly, bringing with it new challenges and opportunities in its quest to ensure a secure, frictionless user experience. Speakers will delve into the factors shaping the field’s future, including the need to balance transparency, efficiency and security while handling the challenges of a regulatory system that faces a state of constant flux.

Transformational technology

Disruptive technologies are shaking up the financial services world, creating new sources of value and business models that will dramatically impact the sector as a whole. Leading authorities and policymakers will discuss the ethical concerns of emerging technologies, including automation and AI, bringing you up to date with the changes that will affect the world of tomorrow.

Inclusive finance and globalisation

Consumers are increasingly demanding sustainable investment options and want to see companies doing business in a way that doesn’t harm people or the planet. Money20/20 examines strategies and business models that create social and commercial value, allowing companies to enjoy the best of both worlds, and demonstrates how the financial services business can positively impact society while keeping customers happy and moving toward a more inclusive financial industry.

Data-driven innovation

The future is all about data. While European regulations such as PSD2 are making it easier to access data, there are also stringent new rules regarding its use. Those working in financial services must learn to innovate with data while following the regulations, which presents many challenges. Money20/20 looks at strategies for using data following the legal changes brought on by PSD2 and explore how it can be combined with cloud technology and analytics to meet product development and back office goals.
