Giving clients the help they need

Exact, a Dutch supplier of business and cloud financial software used by over 400,000 SMEs, has acquired Amsterdam-based SRXP, the Netherlands’ leader in expense management cloud software. This move allows Exact to help clients control costs and increase efficiency by improving the process for reporting and declaring expenses.

Currently, Exact and SRXP share many customers. The technology teams from both organisations will focus on integrating the companies further, and SRXP will continue providing sales and support services to many of its largest clients, including stroller and luggage brand Bugaboo.

Amsterdam success story

SRXP started in 2010 as a student project at the University of Amsterdam. It’s still based in its original Science Park location alongside hundreds of talented students whose projects have attracted interest from prominent companies. It’s a typical Science Park success story: over the years, SRXP has grown steadily through involvement in the city’s entrepreneurial environment and it is now a scaleup with over 700 clients in more than 90 countries, including Airbus, Balmain Hair and Rituals. Exact has similar origins: it began in 1984 as a student-led startup in a garage in Delft, the town where it is still based today.

A plan for growth

Recently, Exact also acquired Proquro, another Dutch company, which automates the purchase-to-pay-process. By strategically taking on companies offering cutting-edge products, Exact can combine their offerings with its own enterprise resource planning and financial software to provide the most comprehensive cost management solution available.

Exact CEO Phill Robinson said: “This is a great step for Exact and for our customers… thanks to the acquisition of SRXP, we can now also offer expense management to SMEs and accountants in a fully automated way that is efficient and easy to use for both employees and their management teams.”
