A great base for digital business
The Netherlands has taken third place – after the US and the UK – in the ‘Ease of doing digital business’ ranking by the Harvard Business Review. The ranking was created as a response and an addition to the renowned annual ‘Ease of doing business’ ranking by the World Bank, and takes into account distinctive policy focuses and investments influencing digital businesses.
Taking on the digital challenge
According to the authors of the report, digital businesses face specific regulatory challenges, including being dependent on rules governing the mobility of data, protection of user privacy and net neutrality. Other factors influencing the ease of doing digital business include digital access and adequate bandwidth, internet censorship and the availability of talent. With outstanding digital connectivity, a thriving tech ecosystem and a highly skilled workforce, the Netherlands offers an excellent base for doing digital business.
