An incubator of new experiences

Argodesign, a product design consultancy and self-described “incubator of new experiences,” has announced that it’s expanding into Europe with the opening of a studio in Amsterdam. The new location will help the company handle the growing international demand for product design, providing customers with access to skilled designers who have a fresh, creative perspective. 

Amsterdam is “an ideal city”

In a statement, chief creative officer Mark Rolston, who founded Argodesign in 2014, says: “From day one of our founding, we’ve been intent on rethinking how a design consultancy is run. We are always looking for complex, interesting problems to solve. It’s important to us to build something that will last, something bigger than ourselves. Amsterdam is an ideal city for this vision. It is a centre of design and top talent, which is clear in the incredibly talented team kickstarting our first European studio.”

A growing consultancy

Currently, Argodesign’s Amsterdam office has 11 employees. The Austin headquarters has 47 people on staff, while six work in New York. The consultancy works with clients across industries, including retail and AI, helping them combine their digital and physical spaces. Tjeerd Hoek, head of creative for Argodesign Europe, says it takes “a nimble but deliberate approach with our clients, tying all design decisions back to business strategy and doing everything we can to understand the full picture of what they and their customers need, want and do.”  

Argodesign is the latest player to join Amsterdam’s growing creative sector, which employs over 200,000 people across the local area and includes fashion, gaming, media and advertising, among other fields.
