A city filled with opportunities

Student accommodation platform HousingAnywhere listed Amsterdam highly in two recent ranking tables: Top 100 Cities for Finding A Job and Top 100 Best Cities to Find a Job. The Dutch capital took 11th place in the first table, which looked at several factors, including the cost of living, salaries, quality of life and open-mindedness. The second ranking table focused on the number of available positions.

HousingAnywhere was founded in the Netherlands in 2009. The site helps students rent their rooms to fellow students from abroad seeking temporary accommodation. Currently, it works with 150 partner universities in 30 countries, including the University of Amsterdam, CEMS National University of Singapore and the University of California, Berkeley.

Competing against major global players

Munich, San Francisco and Zurich claimed the highest three positions in the Top 100 Cities for Finding a Job table. However, Amsterdam still performed better than many other prominent locations, including Sydney, Paris and Vienna. The top 100 Best Cities to Find a Job table featured Moscow, San Francisco and Los Angeles in the first three spots. Amsterdam came 16th, beating Berlin, Hong Kong and Johannesburg.

A talented local workforce

Amsterdam also has a highly skilled workforce, making it an excellent location for companies seeking quality employees. Educational levels are high, many people speak at least two languages and the excellent quality of life makes it an attractive destination.
