Amsterdam: a hub for tech events
The Dutch capital is a hotbed for tech and startup innovation – and it’s well-known for being an ideal conference destination. So it's unsurprising that the city’s roster of tech events is something special; from massive tech events to smaller, focused sector events, Amsterdam has it all this spring.
React Amsterdam, 13 April
It may be happening on Friday the 13th, but expect nothing but good luck at this event if you’re a tech expert. When it comes to conferences for front-end developers, you can’t get much better than React. The programme features a balance of practical and visionary talks alike – as well as valuable workshops and networking opportunities galore. And with speakers from Facebook, Booking.com, Airbnb and more – there’s no shortage of React knowledge to go around. As always, the React Open Source Awards will continue to recognise the best upcoming talent in the sector.
Zero-In Conference, 19 April
This conference zeroes-in (sorry – we had to) on personalisation technology, particularly in sectors such as FinTech, marketing, E-commerce big data. This year may mark the first edition of Zero-In, but make no mistake: this event is a brainchild of the people behind Uprise Festival, so it’s already a huge deal. It boasts two stages and 70 international influencer speakers from all around the world – and 1,000 attendees across 500 companies already have their tickets.
Codemotion Amsterdam, 8–9 May
This year marks the third time that this event – one of the leading developer-focused conferences in the world – has chosen to make a stop at Amsterdam. Codemotion is a deep dive into all things coding, including DevOps, IoT, game development and – of course – AI and machine learning. It's of particular interest to young businesses; in addition to Codemotion’s awesome programme of keynotes and workshops, its startup showcase gives companies a chance to present their innovations to leading developers, engineers and even other businesses.
TNW Conference, 25 May
We mentioned Amsterdam is a big deal for tech conferences, right? Well the proof’s in the pudding: there’s a reason TNW has been hosted in the Dutch capital for over a decade now. Every year at TNW, thousands of inquisitive minds flock to Amsterdam’s Westergasfabriek to discuss future web trends and meet the world's leading innovators in technology and design. If there's one tech conference that needs no introduction, it's TNW. The tech extravaganza gives attendees the opportunity to hear internationally renowned speakers, meet the latest startups, learn about best business practices and help predict, discuss and invent the future of their sector.
