Amsterdam to host European edition of Under 30 Summit
Forbes’ 30 Under 30 franchise compiles the world’s biggest influencers and change makers – all under 30 years old – across a range of sectors. Following the success of the Under 30 Summit EMEA, this new edition – focusing solely on European innovators – features roughly 300 individuals who are making waves in finance, media, tech, social entrepreneurship and more. They were all selected from the coveted 30 Under 30 Europe lists, of which Forbes recently announced the 2018 edition.
“Ever since we launched the first 30 Under 30 Europe list in 2016, we knew that we wanted to hold a dedicated summit to bring together the talent that we’ve found across the region,” said Randall Lane, editor of Forbes and chief content officer at Forbes Media. “We’ve been working closely with the City of Amsterdam over the past months and are thrilled to announce that the Under 30 Summit Europe will be taking place here in September.”
Amsterdam: an easy choice for conferences
Naturally, Amsterdam is the perfect place to host such a conference, mostly due to its knack for innovation, its diversity and its outstanding cultural agenda. And, of course, the city’s top-notch connectivity doesn’t hurt, especially the highly connected Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, which makes it simple for attendees to travel to the city. Simply put, Amsterdam is an ideal conference destination.
According to Lane, “[Amsterdam is] a city widely known for its spirit of innovation, diversity and welcoming culture; this unique business climate is the ideal backdrop for our incredible group of young leaders to come together to share ideas and experiences.”
An innovative programme
Under 30 Summit Europe, taking place on 5-7 September 2018 at The Student Hotel, boasts an insightful programme, including panels, interviews, performances and keynotes from some of the globe’s most successful entrepreneurs, business leaders, startups and disruptors. Needless to say, this falls in line with Amsterdam’s world-class startup community.“StartupAmsterdam is proud to partner with Forbes and its 30 Under 30 community,” said Ruben Niewenhuis, director of StartupAmsterdam and chair of the international advisory board at the Amsterdam Economic Board. “The entire startup and tech scene in Amsterdam is looking forward to meeting these change makers and industry leaders from around the world. Amsterdam has been defining what’s next for centuries; welcome to the birthplace of the first tradable stock, the first multinational, Bluetooth, Python and WiFi. Making new connections enables us to take the next steps in innovation.”
