Taking place in conjunction with European Women in Tech, the Women in Tech Meetup @ Uber is a networking event offering a look behind the scenes at the tech giant – from a female perspective. The evening features tech talks about engineering, product design and data science. Recruitment team members, engineers and designers will be in attendance – oh, and there’s drinks and pizza, too.

European Women in Technology

More than 3,000 tech leaders and professionals are set to join Europe’s biggest conference for women in tech. Following sell-out events in the previous two years, European Women in Technology returns to Amsterdam for two days of keynotes, personal development workshops, technical classes and networking opportunities with the goal of enabling the sector to act on gender diversity.

TEDxAmsterdam returns with its much-loved mix of big ideas and inspirational talks. Speakers at the upcoming edition include Dr Heleen de Coninck, associate professor at the Environmental Science department of Radboud University, whose main field of work is climate change mitigation and policy analysis; Debbie Reber, parenting activist; and prolific Amsterdam-based urban artist and poet Laser 3.14.

Startup in Residence MRA – Kick-off

Innovate the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area! That’s the slogan of the region-wide iteration of the Startup in Residence programme, which sees the City of Amsterdam team up with startups to form an innovative accelerator that invites Dutch and international startups to address a variety of social issues. Today’s the kick-off, where the selected startups present their ideas.

Chivas Venture – Dutch Finals

Each year, Chivas Venture gives $1m in no-strings funding to the world’s most promising social startups. Rockstart host the Dutch finals – join them at their offices to hear inspiring stories and see who will represent the Netherlands at the Chivas Venture Global Final in May 2019, as five ambitious entrepreneurs pitch their businesses to an expert panel. Before the pitches, the jury talk about their own impact stories and how social enterprises have the power to change the way we do business.

P!TCH x Philips Innovation Awards

ASIF, the Amsterdam Student Investment Fund, and the Philips Innovation Award host the seventh edition of P!TCH, Amsterdam’s foremost pitching event for student entrepreneurs. Expect an inspiring speaker, followed by pitches from five startups by students and recent graduates; then there’ll be a Q&A and voting for the winner, plus, of course, drinks and plenty of networking.
