An emphasis on international diversity
The new initiative to rank universities based on international outlook came about as a result of research which indicates that diversity within student populations improves the teaching and learning experience for all students. The rankings consider the numbers of international students, staff and co-authors, and balance the data against the university’s overall ranking internationally. Times Higher Education currently place the UvA at a ranking of 63rd in the world.
Study programmes taught in English
As with many of Amsterdam’s education providers, the UvA actively works to attract talented international students and staff, with a strategy in place to increase its international appeal. The university currently offers 13 Bachelor programmes and more than 150 Master’s programmes in English, with the numbers expected to increase in the coming years.
