An internationally renowned FinTech convention

Money20/20 is a leading conference in US payments and financial innovation, focusing on connecting commerce in retail, marketing services, mobile, technology and data. It brings the world’s leading financial organisations together, providing a platform for brand building, fundraising and – of course – global business development. The event is taking place at Amsterdam RAI on 4-6 June 2018.

The main event, which takes place in Las Vegas every October, helps the industry connect, network and do business. The European edition achieves this in a European setting, as proven in last year’s successful launch and the recent second edition. The organisers are optimistic that the move to Amsterdam in 2018 will help Money20/20 grow further.

Amsterdam: an easy decision

The owners of Money20/20, Ascential, undertook a Europe-wide search to find the perfect location, and – naturally – Amsterdam came out on top. The city’s world-renowned financial community and reputation as a leading convention city were simply too good to pass on.

“We are delighted to make the move to the Amsterdam RAI. It gives us the space we need to support the growth of Money20/20 Europe for the coming years,” said Tracey Davies, Money20/20’s managing director. “This is a key move for us to accommodate the thousands of delegates, partners and hundreds of exhibitors who see this event as the essential date in their diaries.”

Embraced by Amsterdam

Amsterdam’s financial and FinTech community – including companies such as UL, Rabobank, Five Degrees and Holland FinTech – welcomed the event with open arms.

“We’re delighted that Money20/20 Europe is coming to Amsterdam next year. It’s one of the leading innovation and FinTech conferences and we think they make a perfect match with our highly innovative and startup-friendly capital,” said Ralph Hamers, ING Group’s CEO.

A bright future

One thing’s for sure, the internationally renowned event is sure to improve Amsterdam’s already world-class financial ecosystem.

In the words of Deputy Mayor Kajsa Ollongren: “Our city has long been a pioneer in financial innovation and that tradition is still thriving as we are quickly developing into one of the world’s leading hubs for FinTech. I feel confident that the companies, talent and innovators that will attend Money20/20 Europe will further boost that development.”
