International expansion of Amsterdam Denim Days
The Amsterdam Denim Days has always drawn an international crowd. Plans to expand abroad have been in the works for some time now, and the remarkable concept, bringing denim lovers together, finally made its debut on 29 September at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York. In addition to the usual highlights, such as the presence of denim brands, denim mills and experts, a pre-exhibition programme was also offered the day before the event. This involved lectures and seminars, like the FIT Denim Talks featuring Stefano Rosso of Diesel, Stefan Siegel of NOT JUST A LABEL and the Italian icon Adriano Goldschmied, known as the Godfather of Denim.
A successful event with over 75 participants
New York Denim Days targeted both business visitors and consumers. A vintage market was held on Sunday, complete with food trucks and musicians, and attendees included young designers and established brands from the American denim industry. Despite being held in New York, the event maintained a distinct Dutch flavour. Amsterdam Trade and House of Denim selected a few entrepreneurs from the Netherlands to attend New York Denim Days, and showcase the best of the Dutch denim landscape. These included Anbasja Blanken, Kings of Indigo, Benzak Denim Developers, Tenue de Nîmes and TOSSIJN. They were joined by over 75 participants who took part in this successful event.
