SXSW's eclectic mix of attendees
The attendees of SXSW represent a diverse mix of corporates, startups and creative professionals. The festival has a strong focus on innovation and offers cross-sector networking opportunities, The event includes features, sessions, showcases, screenings, exhibitions and more. SXSW strives to prove that the most unexpected business discoveries occur when diverse topics and people come together.
Dutch startups will be given the chance to take over SXSW at the New Dutch Wave (NDW), which is a special meeting point and showcase pavilion for Dutch creative professionals. Also present is the NDW Takeover House near the Austin Convention Center, where the Dutch creative industry will be granted its own stage.
The NDW showcase pavilion will host startups from cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag and Utrecht. Furthermore, Prince Constantijn will officially open the Dutch Takeover House on 12 March. The pavilion offers a collective space with a pitching stage, catering space, a bar area and presentation space. On the pitch stage, startups are invited to present their latest innovations.
Who is SXSW 2017 for?
SXSW is intended for startups and scale-ups from the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area who are seeking international partners and customers, and want a platform to launch their product. Attendees are also invited to give an inspiring presentation on one of SXSW’s themes (VR, IoT, AI, robotics and multi-platform storytelling.)

12 March: Opening of the New Dutch Wave Takeover House by Prince Constantijn.
13 March: Trade show, pitches at the NDW pavilion and, during the startup competition in the NDW Takeover House, business meetings and matchmaking with local startups.
14 March: Trade show and pitches at the NDW pavilion.
15 March: Trade show and pitches at the NDW pavilion.
