Amsterdam Dance Event Global Sessions
The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world’s leading conference and festival for the dance music industry, is expanding abroad, with new events in Mumbai and Texas.
The event in India, which will be held from 23 - 25 February, is called ADE Global Sessions Mumbai. It will feature industry discussions, networking sessions, strategy meetings, masterclasses, and interactive Q&As with top artists. ADE will also be co-presenting India's Biggest Guestlist Club Festival, which will take place on the same dates
The festival is also headed to Texas from 15 - 17 March, where ADE will be presenting showcases involving Dutch music initiatives. One will be with Appelsap, a hip-hop and electronic music festival based in Amsterdam. Also presenting will be the local music company Dekmantel – known for events such as the Dekmantel Festival in Amsterdam and São Paulo, as well as its internationally acclaimed record label. Likewise, the Amsterdam-based online radio station Red Light Radio will be presenting music at SXSW 2017.
“Amsterdam is the centre of the global electronic music scene during ADE, a hotbed for cultural and technological innovation,” said ADE director Richard Zijlma.
“The Dutch creative industry has a strong global reputation and represents an export value of billions, partly thanks to the dance scene,” he said. “Through our international activities, we intend to increase that value and create a springboard for Dutch talent.”
Amsterdam, home to the dance industry
The first edition of the ADE was held in 1995, and since then it has grown into a one of the most important dance conferences worldwide. It now features 450 events and 2,200 artists, and attracts about 365,000 festival visitors from around the globe.
The 2017 edition of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has been confirmed for 18 - 22 October. Organisers are expecting around 375,000 visitors this time and are planning to increase the number of activities by creating more partnerships with cultural institutions.
