VidCon Europe launches in Amsterdam
VidCon, the world’s largest conference for fans, creators, and industry professionals in the field of online video, has announced the first-ever VidCon Europe. It will take place at the RAI Amsterdam convention centre from 7-9 April, 2017.
“Amsterdam, with its history of creative entrepreneurialism and independence, is the ideal dock for a European VidCon,” said VidCon COO Michael Gardner.
The inaugural VidCon Europe will include more than 100 international and local creators of online video. During the event, these creators will celebrate the industry in panels and performances. The conference will welcome approximately 7,500 fans, creators, and representatives of major media companies, in a unique experience designed to celebrate online video.
Other events include Q&As, concerts, interviews, movie screenings, meetups, signings, and games. There will also be workshops for creatives aimed at making better content, growing their online presence, and learning the ins and outs of online video culture. The industry track will feature keynotes, seminars, and product demonstrations geared toward attendees who work in the online video industry.
As part of their expansion into Europe, VidCon will also be partnering with the VEED Festival from 6 until 8 April, which will focus on the Dutch online video community.
Robots coming to Amsterdam
European Robotics Week 2016 (ERW) takes place in Amsterdam from 18 until 22 November, and focuses on how robotic technologies can help ageing populations to live healthier and more independent lives. This year’s ERW consists of more than 700 events across Europe. The opening event at Amsterdam’s National Maritime Museum on 18 November hosted business leaders, researchers, and EU officials, with keynotes about developments in robotics and education in Europe. This was followed by panel discussions about the future of robotics, and workshops about autonomous vehicles and service robots. The entire schedule and additional information can be found on the conference website.
