Amsterdam launches campaign to attract international conferences and events

Amsterdam Marketing, the official city marketing organisation of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, will launch its new meetings and conventions marketing campaign at IMEX in Frankfurt. Using the tagline ‘Open mind, sharp business’ and quoting leading professionals from the convention industry, the area will present itself to meeting planners as an ideal location for conferences and other business events.

Amsterdam hosts many world-class conventions, congresses, and (trade) fairs every year. Over the past years, the number of international conferences and business events has risen steadily. Amsterdam combines the friendliness and accessibility of a historic village with the world-class facilities and cultural attractions of a modern metropolis. By international reputation, Amsterdam sits confidently amongst major metropolitan peers like London, Paris and New York.

The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area has a hotel capacity of almost 38,000 rooms, so it is well equipped to accommodate large conferences. The unique I amsterdam® approved label is a collaboration between the hotels in Amsterdam, Amsterdam Marketing and RAI Amsterdam that stands for quality, affordability and reliability. The label guarantees that the organisers of international conferences, exhibitions and other events can always have 16,000 rooms at their disposal in our city.

More than 2,700 international companies, including Google, Tesla and the Industrial & Commercial Bank of China, have invested in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. The area is also home to numerous leading knowledge institutions. Amsterdam Marketing provides event planners the unique opportunity to utilise the innovativeness of these organisations for their event to furthermore enhance the content. 

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of Europe’s four major hubs, operating to more than 300 direct destinations, and an easy 20 minutes away from the city centre by public transport.
