Year of the MonkeyThe Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration event was held on 22 February at Amsterdam’s grand Beurs van Berlage building, the former site of the stock exchange. According to the Chinese lunar calendar, 2016 is the Year of the Monkey.
More than 250 guests from the Chinese network in the Netherlands were welcomed in the stately halls of the Beurs van Berlage. A welcome speech was given by Deputy Mayor Laurens Ivens, and a keynote speech was given by Mr. Chen Xu, the Ambassador of the P.R. of China to the Netherlands.
