Creating a network of future leaders
Nudge is a social enterprise that aims to connect people and organisations to make a positive difference in society, and the goal of the challenge is to form a network of future leaders. To achieve this goal, Nudge collaborates with several partners; companies such as Unilever, Accenture, Heineken, Danone Nutricia and many other multinationals have provided support for the Nudge Global Leadership Challenge. At the event, influential people in the field, such as Kumi Naidoo, the global head of Greenpeace, will share their knowledge with the participants.
Making a difference in Africa
The winners will get the opportunity to put their leadership skills to the test in Africa as they take part in one of the WakaWaka projects for 10 days. WakaWaka is an organisation that aims to abolish energy poverty around the world.
Amsterdam Smart City
Amsterdam will provide a very inspiring backdrop for the Nudge Global Leadership Challenge. Earlier this year, the American magazine Fast Company ranked Amsterdam as the second smartest city in the world. One of the factors that contributed to this high ranking is the Amsterdam Smart City Project involving Amsterdammers, companies, knowledge institutions and the government. The aim of the project is to find methods to make more efficient use of energy and to test new technologies in Amsterdam. An initiative of the Amsterdam Innovation Motor and network company Liander, the Amsterdam Smart City platform was set up in 2009 and is run in close cooperation with the City of Amsterdam.
