Fast growing companies from the Amsterdam Area
With 17 companies listed on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 EMEA ranking, the Netherlands is the fourth most represented country on the list. The majority of the Dutch organisations on the list is based in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. A large number of companies on the list delivers software, internet and telecommunications services. They include Improve Digital (a provider of real-time advertising technology), SEOshop (an ecommerce solution that helps customers set up a web shop) and Text to Change (a social marketing firm).
The Deloitte ranking
Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 EMEA ranks the fastest-growing organisations in the tech sector of more than 20 countries in the EMEA region. 500 public and private organisations are selected, based on their revenue growth over a five-year period.
David Halstead, Deloitte UK partner and partner-in-charge of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 TM EMEA programme comments in a statement: “All 500 companies are impressive organisations. Achieving a ranking on this year’s list proves their commitment and drive to grow innovative companies – a difficult feat in the competitive and fast-moving technology environment.”
Perfect base for fast growing companies in the ICT sector
The fact that companies from the Netherlands are so well represented on the list points towards the notion that the country offers a perfect base for innovative tech companies to grow. Some famous ICT innovations are of Dutch origin, for instance wi-fi, the Ideal payment system and Bluetooth. Today, an estimated 23% of the total revenue earned by the software sector originates from new or improved products or services.
