Created by the industry, for the industry, IBC is the world’s leading international forum for the electronic media industry, attracting more than 50,000 visitors from 160 countries. IBC combines a highly respected, debate-leading conference; an exhibition of state-of-the-art media technology; and unrivalled networking opportunities for media professionals involved in the creation, management and delivery of entertainment and news content.
This year’s keynote speakers include Viacom International Media Network’s president and CEO Robert M Bakish, Amazon.com’s CTO Dr Werner Vogel and Bob Harris, CTO of Channel 4 TV station (UK).

City for conferences
The IBC is a wonderful example of the many congresses and corporate events that take place in Amsterdam each year. The sector is currently reaping the rewards of a successful collaboration between parties including Amsterdam Marketing, the hotel industry, the City of Amsterdam and Amsterdam RAI, and is welcoming well over 100 congresses and an increasing number of delegates every year.
Since the congress sector and the hotel sector are closely related, the city’s portfolio of hotel rooms has increased significantly over the years as the congress industry has thrived. Recently, an agreement was reached that for each convention in Amsterdam, 16,000 hotel rooms will be made available bearing the ‘I amsterdam Approved’ charter label.
