1019 BR AMSTERDAM
For five days, the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre will be home to more than 30,000 registered cardiology professionals and 200 exhibiting companies.
Leading international conferences in Amsterdam
The ESC Congress 2013 is regarded as the world’s premier conference specialising in the science, management and prevention of cardiovascular disease, which is reflected in the high number of submissions from non-European countries and in participant registrations. During its five days of scientific sessions, new developments in the study of cardiovascular science and research will be shared with the participants.
As well as the serious side of this convention, visiting cardiologists can also enjoy unique Amsterdam experiences alongside their peers. Examples include Dragon Boat Races along the River Amstel, featuring participants from the Netherlands’ top hospitals and research institutes, and a performance by the Orchestra of Netherlands Cardiology in the esteemed Royal Concertgebouw concert hall.
The City of Amsterdam is proud to welcome the ESC Congress 2013 and its participants and has launched a dedicated website to inform guests about all the events that have been arranged during the convention and much more about what is happening in the city.
Amsterdam: a city for meetings
The ESC Congress is just one example of the many large-scale congresses and corporate events that take place in Amsterdam each year. This sector is now reaping the rewards of the successful collaboration between parties including Amsterdam Marketing, the hotel industry, the City of Amsterdam and Amsterdam RAI, and is welcoming more convention visitors every year in the city. In excess of 300,000 more people participated in conventions and corporate events in Amsterdam during 2012 than in comparison with 2008.
'I amsterdam Approved'
Since the congress sector and the hotel sector are closely related, the city’s offering of hotel rooms has increased significantly over the years. Recently, an agreement was reached with the hotel industry meaning that for each convention in Amsterdam, 16,000 certified hotel rooms will be readily available, all bearing the ‘I amsterdam Approved’ hallmark.
