Onfido to open in Amsterdam
Identity verification provider Onfido is opening a new headquarters for the Benelux region in Amsterdam.
Founded in London in 2012, Onfido uses AI technology and identity experts to provide remote document and biometrics verification for companies like Revolut, bunq and Bitstamp, giving them the security they need to onboard customers.
Onfido said its sales across the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg saw a 216% increase in the last year, as businesses increasingly adopted digital identity verification when operations moved online during Covid-19 lockdowns.
Onfido CEO Mike Tuchen said: “Benelux is a growing hotbed of international fintech activity that requires robust identity verification for KYC (Know Your Customer).
“This has been an area of growth for Onfido and we’re committed to providing the best possible service to our existing customers, as well as growing our business in the region. The establishment of our Netherlands office reflects this, and the significant potential that comes with the rate of innovation across all the Benelux markets.”
