Renting or buying a home 

Finding a home can be one of the most challenging and time-consuming aspects of the relocation process. Discovering the right place in the right neighbourhood, deciding whether to rent or buy, understanding the local rules and regulations, setting up all the utilities you need. There’s a lot to take on board. And the process can be especially challenging if you’re not familiar with the local housing market. Our expert partners have the answers to all your questions.  

Programme 

After a welcome from IN Amsterdam, Orange Homes relocation agency will kick off the event with tips about searching for a rental property in the Amsterdam Area. Leading mortgage advisors Mister Mortgage will then introduce you to the basics of arranging a mortgage in the Netherlands, including eligibility, calculating loans, duration, and interest rates.  

Next, certified expat brokers MVA will offer advice on how to make the most of a broker’s services when searching for a home. Our new partner Utility Direct will wind up the programme with a presentation about the utilities you’ll need to arrange when moving into a rental or your own house, including a comparison of different providers and some handy dos and don'ts.
