One of StartupAmsterdam’s ultimate goals is to open corporates' eyes to the opportunities that startups can offer them. By connecting to Amsterdam's startup ecosystem, corporates can harness the talent and capabilities of Amsterdam’s most ground-breaking startups – all while finding tech-based solutions to their own innovation challenges.
StartupAmsterdam’s head of partnerships – Eline Vliegen – has been facilitating corporate-startup connections since the very beginning of the action programme, staying in close contact with over 80 corporates, including KLM, Rabobank, Philips and Uber. Eventually, the idea of building a network for these players naturally came about, encouraging peer-to-peer connections and learning among the corporates.
Benefits of the Corporate Network
The Corporate Network ensures that visibility is given to corporates that want to co-operate with startups. The corporates are encouraged to develop a profile, which will then be featured on the initiative's website, increasing their visibility and accessibility to startup teams. Additionally, we host two annual events to help bring the network together, allowing partners and innovators alike to connect and learn more about startup-corporate collaboration. Corporates are also encouraged to connect to various projects, events and initiatives and to become a mentor, sponsor or speaker. Additionally, we introduce corporates to third-party service providers who can support them in their startup collaborations.
We believe corporates and multinationals play an essential role in Amsterdam’s tech and startup ecosystem. By unifying their innovation agendas, diversifying company cultures with influences from the startup community and – most of all – by learning from one another’s achievements and failures, we can stay in sync with the ever-changing innovation curve.
