Train Taxis

The Treintaxi (train taxi) is a typical Dutch form of transport, available at 110 train stations in the country (though not in Amsterdam). Passengers travel at a reduced rate to and from the train stations as they share the taxi with other passengers.

What does it cost?
There is a fixed price of € 4,10 per person per ride, €5.00 when purchased directly from a Treintaxi driver, within any stop in a defined radius (usually about 8 km from the Treintaxi station). The Treintaxi is available from the first to the last train on the timetable.

How to get a Treintaxi
There are Treintaxi stands available at certain stations, located separately from the other taxi stands. If a Treintaxi is not waiting, there is a blue button that can be pushed to contact the Treintaxi operator, who will then call a Treintaxi for you. The chauffeur waits for a maximum of 10 minutes for any other possible customers to share this Treintaxi, then determines an efficient route and brings the passengers to their destinations.

Trips to the railway station
For the return trip to the railway station, you may call the Treintaxi call-centre at least half an hour prior to being collected. The telephone number is 0900-TREINTAXI (0900-873 4682) (€ 0,35 per minute).
