Decadence is da Kid’s middle name, and Amsterdam seems to be eating up this dapper and debonair DJ. He’s got taste in threads – his three-piece suits are legendary and he was awarded a prestigious Gouden Kabouter (Golden Gnome, a parody DJ award) last year in recognition. He also seems to savor the finer things in life – easily identified by the smouldering cheroot firmly ensconced between his lips as he spins, and the exquisite single malt he’ll often be spotted sipping late in an evening. But his pure love of gastronomic grooves goes right to the gut with his extensive selection of vinyl.

Fusion
In terms of sound, the Kid Goesting style ranges from disco sleaze to electro funk, with a dash of tongue-in-cheek technopop and a splash of more twisted indie electronics. Somewhere between punk and Kylie - and sometimes with a bit of both tossed in for good measure – expect da Kid to mix up one heck of a savory menu .

Getting Busy
Kid Goesting is also a busy man. Aside from his public role manipulating the teeming crowds at chic cocktail set parties with his turntable trickery, he is the main brain behind Amsterdam’s electro-new-wave centric BlackLabel records. BlackLabel is a relative newcomer to the independent electronica scene, releasing tracks for the last five or so years, and promoting notable local acts such as the David Gilmour Girls, St Bernhard and Comtron. Catch Him if You Can
Da Kid's most notable residency these days is at Flex Bar (Pazzanistraat 1, Westergasfabriek) every Thursday night, though often pops up regularly in other popular haunts. He’s played at the Movement (Detroit Electronic Music) Festival, dance music’s biggest annual party. And he’s rarely far from the decks at major Amsterdam electronica gatherings like Five Days Off, frequently backed up with visual mood manipulations by partner in grime VJ Flavor.
