The congress to be held during Intermodal 2007 will be a two-day event aimed at senior professionals active in the container and intermodal sectors. Among the topics to be dealt with are multimodality, hinterland connections, the environment, dealing with empty containers going back to China, ultra-large container carriers, container technology and ICT
The trade fair to be held during Intermodal 2007 will pull in exhibitors from all segments of the container sector, including container manufacturers, container-component makers, container lessors, shipping companies, logistic-services providers, terminal operators and port authorities.
The Intermodal organization has chosen Amsterdam as its venue for 2007 because the Port of Amsterdam is one of Europe’s fastest-growing container ports and is strategically located in the EU. Moreover, the modern and congestion-free Port of Amsterdam enjoys excellent transport links with its immense hinterland by sea, short-sea, inland waterways, railways, roads and air. Adding to Amsterdam’s appeal as a location for a growing number of foreign companies is this unique combination of a seaport, an international airport and a bustling metropolis – all just a 20-minute drive apart.
On December 4, the Port of Amsterdam’s CEO, Hans Gerson, will officially open Intermodal 2007 in Hall 8 at the Amsterdam RAI complex at about 9:25 a.m.
