'Freedom is not a given. It is a responsibility, one that all must protect and share. Liberation day is a day where people can thus show solidarity with those who do not live in freedom. '  National Committee for 4 & 5 May.

Museumplein
The Liberation Festival is held on Museumplein from 12.00-23.00 with bands, speeches and debates.

Carre concert
Opposite the Carré Theatre on the Amstel River there will be a closing night concert. The free open-air concert by the Metropole Orchestra starts at 21:00 and closes with the song ‘We’ll meet again’ by Vera Lynn.
