From Monday 8 to Wednesday 10 October 2012, the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area participated in Expo Real in Munich. It is the second time that the region has been part of this international trade fair for commercial property and investment.

Property opportunities

With a population of more than two million and very good demographic growth figures predicted for the next 20 years, our region is economically strong, stable and successful.

In regards to re-use and transformation of vacant properties, the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area is the leading creative region in Europe. For example, on 6 October 2012, the City of Amsterdam and the owners of 15 large, vacant commercial buildings organised the first open day for empty offices.

New investments in properties across the entire region also attracts investors from all continents: from small-scale to prestigious projects, all in a superb mix of settings: the historical city, waterfront, serene countryside, and high-density business districts, such as the Zuidas.

The region’s quality of living is renowned all over the world: Amsterdam is both cosmopolitan and compact, and you can easily get around on foot or by bike. The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area also has a 400-year tradition of effective cooperation between the public administration and private companies – the city was the home of the first central bank and the site of the world’s first stock exchange. Public and private investments have become even more aligned since the recent financial and economic recession.
