Residence Permits

The Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) arm of the Ministry of Justice is the first point of contact for determining the residence and Visa requirements as related to your nationality, purpose and length of stay. The Alien's Police (Vreemdelingenpolitie) for Amsterdam/Diemen handles the administration for processing these requests.

Tax Numbers

Everyone who is liable for income tax in The Netherlands must acquire a SoFi number.

Work Permits

The rules surrounding whether a work permits is necessary are quite complex, with much of the decision based on the applicant's nationality and/or the nationality of the spouse. The Centrum voor Work en Inkomen (CWI) processes these applications.

All residents are required to register at either the Alien's Police or the City Hall.
