The Communications Department of the City of Amsterdam plays a central role in the initiation, production and direct exchange of information regarding city developments, communicating on a strategic level through communications specialists.

The City of Amsterdam is governed by the City Council, and the College of Mayor and Aldermen. These are supported by a Directorate for General Management (Bestuursdienst), which consists of seven departments - one of them being the Communications Department.
Communications Department
The Communications Department of the City of Amsterdam plays a central role in the initiation, production and direct exchange of information regarding city developments, communicating on a strategic level through communications specialists. The department seeks to initiate, establish and maintain dialogue between the general public, the City Council, and the Mayor & College of Aldermen, thus creating a positive and realistic image of the city of Amsterdam, nationally and internationally.
