Wynand Fockink’s tasting bar has been open in Amsterdam since 1679. Many of the traditional liqueurs on offer here date back to the 17th and 18th century when the VOC imported the necessary exotic spices, nuts and fruit in abundance. Today, the distillery is still furnished in seventeenth century style.
Traditional Dutch liqueurs
Wynand Fockink still distils liqueurs and jenevers. Join a guided tour, learn all about how the products are made and sample old Dutch liqueurs such as Bruidstranen (The Bride's Tears) a spiced wine served in the days leading up to a wedding or Hansje in de kelder (Hans in the cellar).
Quaint tasting room
Inside the quaint tasting room you'll find a huge collection of antique, hand-painted storage bottles. Follow the 300-year-old tradition of stooping towards the bar to take a first sip of your drink and join the historical procession of Amsterdammers who have drunk in this age-old public house.
