Sugar addicts can be indulged at the dessert restaurant/cocktail bar Sucre in Amsterdam. The chef acquired a number of skills at the famously starred restaurant El Bulli and cooks sinfully. None of your cheesecake or tiramisu but yuzu soup in a Sauternes aspic, crêpes suzettes with basil or vanilla dessert cake with fresh raspberries; even the savoury main courses have a sweet twist. The sensual decor is designed by Erik Kuster and there is an abundance of mirrors, golden chairs and a chandelier and black voile curtains. One can have an amazing whole dessert dinner or even turn up at three o’clock in the morning for a night cap.
